Infinite Child a poem by µmike (summer 1996) An infinite cosmos, I once did seek, Into the vastness I tried to peek. I looked as far as eye could see, And found a special star for me. I want to travel to this star, That looks from here to be so far. So how does someone make this trip, Without the benefit of train or ship? The mind's eye is the place to go, When trips abroad are way to slow. I go there often and visit long, To make me happy and keep me strong. Now if an infinite cosmos you would see, Then close your eyes and come with me. Take all the time that you would spend, 'Cause an infinite cosmos never ends. "Imagination is more important than knowledge" ... A. Einstein "Imagination without knowledge is useless" ... µmike

 

Rik: As usual, I asked him about the circumstances and when he wrote this poem? µmike ...but I really don't believe in incremental time and I very rarely even keep track of time or the timing of events. My mind is so completely caught up in understanding space and time, that I have very little awareness of its actual passing. So I really don't know when I wrote this. It was probably in 1996.... I remember the day and it was in the summer and the weather was nice. I still had a house and a car. I was thinking about the kids and how important it is for them to understand they live in an infinite cosmos. Virtually all I have done with the gravionic model is designed to be taught to a child entering the first grade. So how could I convey a message of infinite hope and promise within an infinite cosmos? That is when the poem came to me and I wrote it down... ... Please excuse the slow response, I guess I'm in a permanent time warp. :-) µmike is 54 and lives in Los Alamos, New-Mexico, USA.
