An eerie resemblance with the WTC 'twin towers' 911 happenings, speaking for itself! I enclose at left a composite drawing from my hand. This drawing was made on July 24, 1998, and this is almost exactly 3.2 years before September 11, 2001 and can be considered a forecast of the happenings. Look at the WTC Twin Towers at the right, with the "2 eyes" (later impact of the aeroplanes), the "nose" (later the collapse of the towers) and the "mouth and teeth" (later pile of rubble and still standing steel structures after the collapse)... Note added June '02: After some reflections, I thought it a good idea to give some info about the atmosphere around me when and how this drawing took its shape.
In general, I was during those summer weeks very busy with the first preparations of a series of workshops, to start about a month later in the Fall of 1998. That week, I bought a new copier and the computer was upgraded with extra RAM memory to enable the research with the Redshift3 software (Solar system - planet movements). Meditations during that week where extremely energetic and fruitful. At the other hand, a lingering doubt was creeping around in my mind... Would it be useful?? Can I make a difference in this very big world??
The drawing started itself with the "Indian head", followed by the complete Indian posture. The pencil moved almost "by itself" while I felt tangled between my new "green", upbeat attitudes in starting very soon with my own workshops, the contrast and opposites with the surrounding egoistic, commercial world and the limits and contradiction with the so-called "learned establishment".
The rest of the drawing completed itself really nice and in a very short time span and I was amazed by the "quality" of it (far better than usual). The choosing of the subjects and symbols was all a matter of a few minutes effortless, fluent work... or better said "gliding". It could really be described as "drawing itself"...
And I think now that I can make some difference!
